Birch Run/Taymouth Parents for Youth
We would like to extend an invitation to all join
us at our montly meetings, which take place every 3rd Monday of the
month at 7:00 pm at the North Elementary School, room #408
Participation by our community, in the meetings, is
critical in deciding the direction in which the PFY will follow for
every sporting event. Out organization has been successful in
providing our youth with sporting programs such as: baseball,
softball, football, cheerleading, wrestling and volleyball for the
past thirty years plus. As our youth move up to school sponsored
sports and outgrow the PFY, our parent volunteers move out of the
organization as well. So new volunteers are always needed to keep
our organization running for future youth of our community. Our
non-profit organization is funded solely by registrations and
fundraising programs, which in supporting, gives indirectly back to
the local community. For example, within the past two years the PFY
has donated $7000.00 to the Athletic Association to install a
sprinkler system in the high school football field along with
helping to fund the building of the new press box. the PFY is
currently working with Birch Run and Taymouth Townships in funding
ongoing projects in the township parks. Working with the school
system and with the townships, PFY is dedicated to providing oue
children with the best-equipped and coached sporting programs
possible.
With youth participation exceeding 600 plus
children per year, PFY is always in need of vouteers in all areas,
such as coaches, umpires, commissioners, field prep, plus many
other areas.
